Change is bittersweet

As a mom of one-year-old twin boys, I have to remind myself to slow down and fully live in the moment in the midst of all the busy-ness. The changes that come with fall are reminding me that life moves quickly but shifts can be beautiful. (Image courtesy of Eden Boudreau on Unsplash)

I, like many people, struggle with change. Sometime last month, my eldest son (by two minutes) started making a face that would make even the most stone-faced person laugh out loud. With his chin to his chest, he’d furrow his brow and stare.

He did it to purposely make people laugh and our family enjoyed the heck out of it. Strangers were a little taken aback.

But after a few weeks, the look disappeared, gone the way of family lore. He has moved on, but I wasn’t ready. There will be new looks, but I’ll still miss the ones before.
